Lions Club Of Gauhati Has Adopted The Village “Arabari” In Sonapur And Is Working With The Intention Of Making It Into A Model Village. Multiple Initiatives Have Been Taken For The Overall Improvement In The Hygiene, Environment And Socio-economic Conditions Of The Village.
Lions Club Of Gauhati Has Distributed 2050 Saplings Of Lemon Trees And Coconut Trees To The Households Of The Village To Plant, Nurture And Gain Financially By Marketing The Produce Of The Trees.
The Lions Club of Gauhati has received praise from Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal for its Project “Aanchal,” which aims to rebuild and renovate around 300 houses damaged during the recent floods in lower Assam.
In a statement, the Chief Minister stated that the Lions Club of Gauhati’s noteworthy work of rebuilding/renovating 28 houses at Bali village in Nalbari district is a prime example of true social activism. He also praised the Lions Club for constructing deep tubewells in flood-affected areas as part of Project Aanchal to provide residents with safe drinking water.
